A native of Northern California, Casey
Cameron began playing the piano at the age of five. His
deep musicianship also draws from experience with the saxophone,
drums, guitar, bass, and percussion. All throughout his
school career he has played in various bands, winning many
awards, including an 'Outstanding Musicianship' award at
the Pacific Coast Collegiate Jazz Festival in Berkeley,
CA. Truly a creative mind, Casey has been composing music
for over 10 years, experimenting in many styles and mediums.
More recently, Casey graduated with honors
from Sonoma State University as a distinguished graduate
with a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance. He has gained
notoriety working all throughout the Bay Area playing the
music of Herbie Hancock, Joey Calderazzo, Wayne Shorter,
choice standards, as well as sophisticated original compositions
and arrangements.
Casey's core band consists of Jon Arkin
on drums and Taylor Cutcomb on bass. Rooted in advanced,
lush 20th century harmony, this trio brings a fresh interpretation
to jazz along with an energy that is truly fun and inspiring.
They create a serious yet light-hearted atmosphere that
everyone can enjoy.
Along with Taylor, Jon, and the countless
number of other great musicians that Casey works with in
the greater bay area, Casey has played with esteemed jazz
artists and composers Mel
Graves, Jeff Pittson, and George
Marsh, his very own former instructors at Sonoma State
University. He has also played with the West Coast Jazz
Ensemble, The Heavies, drummer and guitarist Jason
Bodlovich, vibraphonist Yancie Taylor, bassist Fred
Randolph, New York saxophonist Kenny Shanker, vocalist
